ViewSonic® Limited Warranty (for South Africa)

This document describes the warranty terms for all ViewSonic Projector products in South Africa.

ViewSonic provides customers with the security of a manufacturer’s warranty against defected products. The type and duration of the applicable warranty service varies by product type and can also vary on an individual basis according to customer requirements agreed at time of purchase.

What the warranty covers:
ViewSonic warrants its products to be free from defects in material and workmanship during the warranty period. If a product proves to be defective in material or workmanship during the warranty period, ViewSonic will, at its sole discretion, repair or replace the product with a similar product. Replacement Product or parts may include remanufactured or refurbished parts or components.

Warranty types:

  • Return-to-Base Service:
    Repair or replace the defective unit at the service centre. User has to carry-in the unit to service center on his/her cost.

How long the warranty is effective:

ViewSonic Projector products carry 24 months from the date of purchase/ 27 months from the month of manufacture whichever is earlier, return-to-base service warranty for parts, inspection and labor (Excluding Lamp)

  • (Light source) Lamp:
    • Original lamp: 1 year or 1000 hours whichever comes first
    • Replaced/purchased lamp: 3 months or 500 hours whichever comes first
  • (Light source) Laser & LED: follow projector warranty

※ Lamp (light source) is consumable parts, can be claimed warranty only when lamp is defect (fail to light up).
※ Brightness decrease is not covered by warranty.

  • Accessory: 3 months warranty

Who the warranty protects:

The warranty stated above will be provided in accordance to the country of warranty request and is valid only for the first consumer purchaser from the date of original purchase (Proof-of-Purchase = Invoice).

What the warranty does not cover:

  1. ny product, on which the serial number has been defaced, modified or removed.
  2. Damage, deterioration or malfunction resulting from:
    • Accident, misuse, neglect, fire, water, lightning, or other acts of nature.
    • Repair or attempted repair by anyone not authorized by ViewSonic. Any damage of the product due to transportation.
    • Causes external to the product, such as electric power fluctuations / failure or interference caused due to any non compatible hardware / software.
  3. Removal, installation, and set-up service charges.
  4. Special charges such as Octroi, inter -state tax, surcharge, duties, any special municipal tax, and/or the like.
  5. The warranty does not cover an accessories external to the system.
  6. The concerned service centre will advise the customer whether to effect the repair at its site or service centre.
  7. The product is not purchased from an Authorized ViewSonic dealer.
  8. Site(premises where the product is kept) conditions that do not confirm to the recommended operating conditions of the machine
  9. Modification or alteration of any nature is made in the electrical circuitry / or physical construction of the set

How to get service:

  1. For information on obtaining warranty service, call your ViewSonic dealer or ViewSonic Call Desk / Service Provider or ViewSonic refer to the contact information located in each country's corresponding web site.
  2. To obtain warranty service, you will be required to provide.
    1. The original dated sales slip (POP).
    2. Your name.
    3. Your address.
    4. The serial number and model number of the product.
    5. A description of the problem.
  3. Bring or ship the product prepaid in the original container, with the associated accessories, to ViewSonic or any ViewSonic authorized service center.
  4. For additional information or the name of the nearest ViewSonic service center, contact your ViewSonic dealer or ViewSonic.

Limitation of implied warranties:

There are no warranties, express or implied, which extend beyond the description mentioned above including the implied warranty of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

Exclusion of damages:

ViewSonic's liability is limited to the cost of repair or replacement of the product. Viewsonic shall not be liable for:

  1. Damage to any other property caused by the defect in the product, damages caused due to inconvenience, loss arising due to non functionality of the product, loss of time, loss of profits, loss of business opportunity, loss of goodwill, loss of business relationships, or other commercial loss
  2. Any other damages, whether incidental, consequential or otherwise.
  3. Any claim against the customer by any other party.
