ViewSonic Introduces myViewBoard Manager and Clips, myViewBoard Box and a Line of Pen Displays for Education

A part of the ViewSonic® myViewBoard™ education ecosystem, myViewBoard Clips and Pen Displays offer interactive and portable solutions in the classroom or at home for digitized learning. The ViewSonic myViewBoard software is a powerful tool that empowers teachers to build lesson plans, create engaging content and share lessons with students. With the myViewBoard Clips hybrid package, educators can access more than two million licensed educational videos and share with students learning at home. The content is educationally curated, fit for common core standards, and can be sorted based on age level and subject matter. Each video is selected from a library of more than 150 media partners, including: TED, PBS NewsHour and Bloomberg Media, as well as teachers’ favorites such as Crash Course, Minute Earth and LearnZillion.

The myViewBoard Manager allows IT administrators to control and monitor devices, as well as broadcast messages to any display panel from anywhere, and is available to myViewBoard entity users. myViewBoard Manager Advanced is a premium version which features management for up to 100 administrators, additional cloud storage, broadcast of multimedia messages, as well as a report of device usage. The broadcasting function allows users to disseminate messages, videos and information to all devices from one location. The larger cloud storage ensures space availability for different media content, while the reporting feature shows analytics based on usage and devices, among others.

The new Pen Display devices include two models: the ID1330 and the ID0730. The ID1330 ViewBoard® Pen Display is an ultra-thin 13.3-inch pen display that features a battery-free pen to create, manage and share digital content. With this pen display, instructors in science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics can enjoy better control and greater precision as they draw diagrams, equations and sketches. Teachers can use the ID1330 as a convenient second screen during online lessons or to create annotations during in-class presentations. The ID0730 ViewBoard Notepad is a user-friendly device that allows users to take digitalized notes in real-time. Both the ViewBoard Pen Display and ViewBoard Notepad work seamlessly with ViewSonic myViewBoard™ software and are compatible with Windows, Mac and Chrome OS.

The myViewBoard Box VBS100-A is a companion device for the myViewBoard ecosystem. It instantly transforms any touch display into a digital whiteboard. Any interactive projector, flat panel or touch monitor can be used as a hub to share content. By just connecting the myViewBoard Box directly to any display, via USB-C or HDMI and USB-A connector, it can mirror any myViewBoard canvas to share content from anywhere (through the built-in myViewBoard Display app).

myViewBoard Manager is available now and is complimentary for those who enroll in the myViewBoard ecosystem. myViewBoard Manager Advanced will be available in April 2021. The myViewBoard Clips In-Class Learning package is $1,000 a year/per school (20 concurrent streams) and the Hybrid Learning package is $2,200 a year/per school (31 concurrent streams per classroom).

New Sizes Include 108- and 216-inch Models for Effective Messaging and Communication

The 108-inch LD108-121 and the 216-inch LD216-251 are all-in-one display solutions designed for professional-grade, 24/7 operation in large venues, higher education campuses and other environments where a striking impression and effective messaging is needed.

The LD108-121 and the LD216-251 deliver content seamlessly without lines or distortion, ensuring one continuous and smooth image. ViewSonic’s color blindness feature consists of two modes – a color filter mode for color vision deficiency (CVD) users and a simulation mode for creators to deliver a color blindness friendly experience. These features are available in ViewSonic’s professional ColorPro™ models VP2468a, VP2768a and VP3481a monitors.

CVD test subjects were selected by TÜV SÜD, using the Munsell 100 Hue Test that identifies the zones of color confusion (Protanopia, Deuteranopia or Tritanopia). The subjects then tested ViewSonic’s monitors and the exclusive color blindness software. Compared to the traditional approach which only alters the overall combination of colors, ViewSonic’s color blindness feature’s algorithm alters most of the colors that are not identifiable by CVD users. The test result showed ViewSonic’s color blindness feature improved the ability of the CVD subjects to successfully identify color differences from 70-75% (on average) to 90%.

Creating a Color Blindness Friendly Experience

The color filter mode caters to users with CVD to help them identify images with enhanced color visibility. The CVD user can activate the color filter function via vDisplayManager™ and choose between two levels, the normal Color Filter and the Advanced setting filter. Both levels assist CVD users in customizing the display to enhance color visibility and identify a wide range of colored graphics more accurately. The Advanced setting filter can also be used to change the contrast level and set the best filters for the user’s most comfortable viewing experience.

The color blindness simulation, mode allows graphic designers to envisage their creations as it would be seen by a CVD user and adjust accordingly. This innovative technology benefits creators, designers, teachers, especially in preschool, as well as CVD users. CVD users can have a more friendly viewing experience as the content is created with the simulation mode.

The color blindness feature is now available in ViewSonic’s professional ColorPro monitor series - VP2468a, VP2768a and VP3481a. The ColorPro series serves as the ideal solution for creative work, such as photography, design, and video editing. Two New Models Offer Color Accuracy, Color Blindness Modes and Enhanced Connectivity

 BREA, CA (November 19, 2020) – ViewSonic Corp., a leading global provider of display solutions, upgrades its ColorPro™ professional monitors with the addition of the VP2468a and VP2768a color-accurate monitors. These two monitors are PANTONE-validated, meeting the requirements of the PANTONE full range of colors. Both monitors offer out-of-the-box color accuracy, color blindness modes and USB-C connectivity. The ColorPro series of monitors deliver true-to-life image quality for creatives in photography, content creation, design, and video editing, among others.



The VP68a series has been verified and factory-tuned with a series of in-house color tests, and both monitors have been evaluated by PANTONE, meeting the validation requirements by passing the full range simulations test of the PANTONE Formula Guide. With its color accuracy and enhanced connectivity, including USB-C and Ethernet RJ45, the VP2468a and VP2768a deliver color-accurate picture quality with industry color standards including sRGB, Rec709, calibration and uniformity.

The VP68a monitors offer two unique modes: color blindness simulation mode and color blindness filter mode. The color blindness simulation mode helps  creators see how their work would appear from a color blindness perspective, The color blindness filter mode  allows those who lack sensitivity to colors to see on-screen details. ViewSonic received more than 2,100 extraordinary photo entries from 18 countries and regions, which offered visual representations of the ubiquity of kindness. ViewSonic announced the contest’s winners on November 13—World Kindness Day—through a global, live-streamed awards ceremony.



James Chu, Chairman and CEO of ViewSonic, said, “I’m delighted that this contest has elicited such a strong response among creators worldwide. The top three entries in the ColorPro Award 2020 Global Photography Contest all conveyed heartwarming messages through their photography. The first-prize winner, Spain’s Antonio Aragon Renuncio, made a photograph titled Kindness of 14-year-old Kodjo in Bombouaka, Togo, who is helping a classmate with homework before a soccer game at a care center for children with severe physical and intellectual disabilities. The friendship and compassion shown by Kodjo help disabled children, who are often referred to as “snakes” in their local communities, enjoy normal lives.

Bangladesh’s Tanvir Alam has won the second prize for Harvesting Water Lily, which uses a bird’s-eye view to show a colorful image of harmony between man and nature, with two farmers working together to process water lilies. The third prize has been awarded to Singapore’s Chin Leong Teo for his photograph Drought Ladies. Shot from behind two women, the image shows the helplessness of people in the face of major natural disasters but also the warmth of the woman who consoles her sister in a powerful symbol of mutual support.

At the live-streamed awards ceremony, ViewSonic also invited Chen-Yu Chiu, CEO of the Taiwan-Reyhanli Centre for World Citizens, to share the photos of civic events held near the border between Turkey and Syria and to explain what kindness means to him. Chiu stated that “a grim concrete border wall was transformed into a Taiwan-built center that serves to convey kindness from the world to people in Turkey and Syria. Kindness derives from our close experience of the environment in which we find ourselves, as well as our innate compassion and empathy, and is accentuated by a little bit of craziness and persistence.”

Huai-An Ho, President of the HoHuan Theatre Company, which has held 660 free performances at hospitals and clinics over the past 18 years in Taiwan, also took part in the ceremony to share his views on kindness through two photographs. The first photo showed a Mazinger Z figure holding the hand of a little boy as they are about to enter a hospital room and perform for a young girl, demonstrating that kindness can help even the weakest among us be as strong as super heroes. The other photo showed a renowned Peking opera master who, despite his old age and dementia, can still sing the songs he performed during his long career, a touching symbol of persistence. Ho added that “cancer cannot be transmitted, but kindness can” and that “even if I’m unable to do great things, I can still show love while doing many little things.”

To further enhance the power of kindness, ViewSonic also launched a special event called “You comment, ViewSonic Donates,” which will last until January 13, 2021. ViewSonic invites people to take part in spreading kindness by going to the event page: https://lihi1.cc/FR9Xp/ColorProDonation leaving comments about or sharing one of the top 10 photos, explaining why they like the photo, or sending a message to the photographer.
