The traditional lecture format has its limits—especially when it comes to engaging students and facilitating effective learning.

In our reimagined space, we suggest a new approach aligned with Cognitive Load Theory. This emphasizes that shifting from lecture-heavy teaching to segmenting lessons into digestible pieces can improve learning outcomes, ensuring students are not overwhelmed by excessive information at once.

Here, teachers remain central, but are empowered by EdTech to make learning more engaging and inclusive. This EdTech integration enables teachers to alternate between diverse activities, managing students’ cognitive load effectively to keep them focused on their lesson.

We understand that changing how classes are taught can be challenging. That's why we advocate for a gradual and manageable introduction of EdTech—ensuring a seamless transition that enriches education for all, without drastically altering existing classroom norms.

Ultimately, the thoughtful integration of technology into the standard classroom setup aims to enrich educational experiences for students and teachers alike.

Lesson Preparation & Delivery

Before the class enters, myViewBoard simplifies the planning process for instructors by offering an infinite digital whiteboard for material preparation.

During the lesson, the teacher uses a high-brightness projector to present content without dimming the lights, effortlessly controlling and annotating directly on a touchscreen pen display.

ClassSwift aids in the integration of interactive activities to boost student engagement. It enables the quick creation of push and response activities using the teacher's myViewBoard presentation and other existing teaching materials, tailored to the pace of the classroom’s comprehension.

Students then engage with the activities using their personal devices, such as laptops, smartphones or tablets, resulting in an interactive and dynamic learning environment.

Student Research & Discussion

Following the interactive lecture, the teacher instructs the students to conduct independent research on the topics discussed during the lecture phase.

Equipped with laptops, tablets, and a ViewBoard, students in groups dive into online resources for information.

Using myViewBoard's Participate Mode, they brainstorm and organize their findings into cohesive presentations, adding annotations and personal insights to enrich their work.

As the students work, the teacher circulates among them, offering guidance and encouragement as they explore the topics.

Interactive Lecture Discussion

Leveraging vCast, the teacher shares their screen with ViewBoards positioned at the classroom's rear.

This ensures that lecture content is visible from the back of the classroom, while allowing students to engage deeper with the content and contribute their insights by annotating directly on the presentation using a ViewBoard.

Students unable to attend in person can join seamlessly through the UNIVERSE virtual campus, where they witness the teacher’s screen broadcast on a virtual ViewBoard. This integration of physical and digital environments fosters active participation and collaboration among students, without barriers.

Student Presentations & Peer Feedback

In the final stage of the lesson, students gather around the side ViewBoards to deliver their presentations on the topics they explored.

Each group takes turns casting their screens to a ViewBoard hassle-free using ViewSonic Display from their web browsers, seamlessly sharing their research findings with the class.

As the presentations unfold, students actively listen, taking notes on their digital devices to prepare questions and observations for peer feedback.
